PANJIM: The Children of Freedom Fighters (CFF) association has made several allegations about the manner in which the Goa Public Service Commission conducted recruitments for posts reserved for CFF and regarding information submitted under the Right to Information Act (RTI). They alleged that injustice had been meted out to them.
At a media briefing in the presence of large number of people from freedom fighter’s families, the Association president Dr Shivaji Mukund Shet called on the State government to rectify and look into the alleged errors and provide justice to CFF.
Shet alleged that a post in Goa College of Art was given to a candidate of the general category when it was reserved for CFF.
He criticised the Commission and other departments for not furnishing correct information regarding the selection committee for recruitments in the college and information about candidates. Shet said the rules are not being followed by the Commission and that certain decisions that can only be taken by the Cabinet seem to be taken by the Commission.
He questioned the approval for the relaxation of knowledge of Konkani for candidates while alleging that GPSC had erred in this regard too.
