PANJIM: In view of Corona Pandemic, the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) has announced postponement of Junior Scale Officer (JSO) computer based recruitment test (CBRT), which was scheduled to be held on March 29.
The Commission has also postponed various Departmental Promotion Committee Meetings, which were to be held on March 24.
In a press statement issued on Friday, GPSC chairman Jose Manual Noronha said that in view of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) being reported from different parts of the Country and the precautionary measures undertaken by the government, the GPSC has decided to postpone the JSO’s CBRT scheduled on March 29.
He said that the new date will be announced at an appropriate time.
The Commission had released an advertisement for filling up 22 positions of JSO of Goa Civil Service on January 10; and had received 3635 applications for the post, out of which 3580 were eligible to answer CBRT.
The Commission has advertised such a large number of positions after many years, which included 15 in general category, five for other backward class (OBC), and one each for schedule caste and people with disability.
