Vasco: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Grade Separator project and opened it for public use on Tuesday morning.
The CM added that the project worth Rs 42 crore, is expected to ease the traffic congestion and smoothen movement of vehicles at the airport junction area.
GSIDC officials added that this was the need of the hour considering the massive traffic movement from all sides of Goa, or the roads leading to Dabolim airport, especially during peak hours of the flight movement, eventually resulting into traffic congestion near the airport.
Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, GSIDC Vice-Chairman Joshua Dsouza, Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, GSIDC Vice-Chairman and Mapusa MLA Joshua, Goa Aiprort D’Souza, Goa Airport Director Gagan Malik, GSIDC officials and other dignitaries were also present.
Speaking to media persons, Sawant responded to other issues. Speaking about the Mhadei matter, he said is in touch with his Advocate General and legal team and that the necessary objections etc, which need to be raised time and again, has been done and that the government is pursuing this matter.
On a different topic, he said that from Tuesday onwards, people would have started to get self -generating transit passes wherein earlier they had to get it from the Collectors office, but now after applying for it online with the required details, the individuals will get their transit passes.
