MARGAO: A grand Shigmo awaits revellers in Margao this year, as the festival committee has planned programmes for full four days in the town.
Briefing the media at Margao, Shigmotsav Samiti President Yatin Faldessai said that unlike the previous years, this year the festival would jointly be organised by the previously warring groups. Faldessai credited TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai for bringing the warring parties together.
When asked what brought the change of heart among the previously warring Shigmo groups, BJP Yuva Morcha senior member Abhishek Kakodkar said, “Though there is no politics involved in the Shigmo celebration, but I must mention that this is a festival organised by the BJP government appointed committees.”
Faldessai informed that the Shigmo will be held along the Opinion Poll square road. 
On February 26 at10.30 am, the committee members will offer coconut to Lord Damodar at Pimpalkatta while on Feb 28 at 7 pm, the committee will offer Sur Rot to Jageshwar near Milan Hotel. 
On March 2 at 7 pm, Marathi Pavul Padte Pude will be held at Ravindra Bhavan. On March 3, famous Marathi Sangit programme with singers Jasraj Joshi, Kavita Nikam, Rachit Agarwal and Shalmali Sukhatanker will be held. Fu Bai Fu actors programme of Anshuman Vichare, Vishakha Subhedar and compared by Jaiwant Bhalekar will also be held on the same day.
On March 4, float parade will be held from 3.30 pm onwards by offering of feto to Lord Dambab at Pimpalkatta. Thereafter, fancy dress, folk dance, Romtamel, Chitrarath competitions will be held.
On March 5, at 7 pm, Lavni programme will be staged at Lohia Maidan.
