In his complaint to Ponda police against three officials of GMC including its chairman, Parab stated that 48 animals were illegally slaughtered in Goa Meat Complex by violating conditions put down by HC.
“GRA will bring to the notice of the HC that Goa Meat Complex illegally slaughtered about 48 cattle by not complying with the court’s guidelines. I have filed a complaint with Ponda police appealing to register a criminal offence against GMC Chairman Lyndon Monteiro, in-charge of GMC and the managing director under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act,” Parab informed.
Speaking to Herald, Parab said GRA had filed a complaint with the NGT at Pune against illegal slaughtering of animals in Goa, based on which NGT served a notice to the FDA.
“FDA on April 9 issued stop order against slaughtering at the complex, but within 24 hours changed its mind and gave approval for slaughter,” Parab claimed.
