PANJIM: As the lockdown 3.0 kicks off in the entire country, the State, which is currently in Green Zone, will have some relaxations as the government offices, hair cutting salons and public transport will be reopened on Monday.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that from tomorrow (Monday), two persons will be permitted on two-wheeler and four will be permitted inside a four-wheeler.
He also informed that auto rickshaw and taxis will be allowed to operate from Monday.
However, the government has decided to strictly implement the Ministry of Home Affairs, 7 pm to 7 am guideline of no public movement.
“We welcome lockdown 3.0 announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modiji. I again urge people to show same support they showed during last two lockdowns. Though we are in Green Zone but we have to still follow some restrictions. Section 144 will continue till May 17 in entire State,” Dr Sawant said via video conferencing.
Sawant said that the movement of people is restricted from 7 pm to 7 am.
“Only permitted vehicles will be allowed, essential shops such as grocery or medical will be allowed. Even retail liquor shops which will be open from tomorrow will have to close by 6.30 pm,” he stated.
The Chief Minister also warned that the restaurants and paan shops must remain closed. If they are open, the police will act and ask them to close.
“Street food vendors, beach shacks, gyms, sports complexes, auditoriums, bars, cinema halls, swimming pools, river cruise and all religious places will be shut,” he said.
He said the persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years shall stay at home, except for indenting essential requirements and for health purposes.
