In a tragic incident, a 42-year-old lineman, Krishna Pawar, lost his life after coming in contact with electricity and falling off an electricity pole in Portowada-Siolim. The lineman was responding to a power supply disruption at the site, accompanied by co-workers from the electricity department.
Krishna Pawar, attempting to descend the pole, accidentally touched a live wire, resulting in a fatal fall. Despite immediate efforts, he was declared dead upon reaching Mapusa district hospital. Anjuna PSI Sahil Warang conducted the panchanama, and the body was sent to Goa Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
The family and friends of the deceased are expressing their anguish, attributing the tragedy to negligence by engineers. Demanding action against the contractor and seeking justice, the grieving family highlights the need for accountability to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
