MARGAO: The Goan Seamen Association of India ((GSAI) has decided to give recognition to its seafarers community on the seafarers day to be celebrated on June 25.
Frank Viegas, President, GSAI said they will be celebrating its Seafarers Day on June 25 at Conference Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
“We have decided to felicitate all Goan chefs/chief cooks as an appreciation for their good work and deeds. It is without a doubt of uncertainty that most of them retire without an ounce of recognition of their achievements,” said Viegas.
He further requests Goan Chefs and Chief Cooks to come forward to register themselves before June 22 so that they can acknowledge their accomplishments.
Felicitation is only for presently working Chefs/ Chief Cook but not retired. If a seafarer is sailing, family members can receive on behalf of the seafarer, he informed.
