GSBB officials inspect Raloi-Lake; collect samples

MARGAO: In wake of controversial reports pertaining to polluted lakes, officials of Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) on Saturday inspected the Raloi-Lake in Curtorim, and also collected the water samples for further study. 

In the evening hour’s one lady scientific officer attached to GSBB, along with farmer Santano J Rodrigues, chairman of Curtorim Biodiversity Committee visited the lake. 

Sources said that the said officer had inspected the lake and also collected the water samples upon the directions of the Board. 

It may be recalled that there are confusions pertaining to the reports done by Goa State Pollution Control Board of polluted lakes. In the reports it was mentioned that Raia Lake in Curtorim, besides another lake in Curtorim are amongst the few highly polluted lakes in Goa. However, in the later stages GSBB had clarified that Raloi-Lake was not amongst them.
