GSCPCR for responsible reporting from media houses

PANJIM: The Goa Sate Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR) has written to the Department of Information and Publicity urging responsible reporting from media houses in the aftermath of coverage of rescue of a kidnapped month-old toddler.

The Commission has circulated media guidelines for reporting on children, to be circulated to accredited journalists as it requested to follow the guidelines scrupulously while reporting on children. The Commission has sought for a report from the department by June 30 in this regard.

Certain media houses (not Herald) violated the Juveniles’ law while reporting about the toddler, who was rescued from his kidnaper this month.
