PANJIM: Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) while congratulating Pramod Sawant on his re-election as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party for the second term said, “We are happy that Dr Pramod Sawant has assured to do everything possible to work for the development of the State and to have ‘zero tolerance’ to corruption. We assure our full support to the Sawant for the next five years.”
The GSIA further requested the incumbent chief minister to choose his ministerial team of persons with integrity, development oriented and sensitive to the needs of the people of Goa. “Persons with bad record in handling the ministry earlier should not be entrusted with the same ministry. Ministers should have basic knowledge of the work they are to handle and ministries should be allocated on merits and not on any other considerations,” the GSIA said in a press release.
GSIA also suggested him to establish grievances committees in each ministry where aggrieved public can seek redressal. Strict action should be initiated on persons involved in corruption or adopting delaying tactics in movement of work files. This should be applicable to even the ministers. “Announce an anti-corruption helpline as done by Punjab government so that people can lodge a complaint of corruption on a WhatsApp number which should be monitored by the chief minister,” said the release.
President of CREDAI also joined GSIA saying, “We at CREDAI too demand a corruption free environment for our business in the real estate sector.”
