Margao: The Goa State Innovation Council (GSIC) has designed highly effective and low-cost f24 face shields using 3D-Printing technology. The self-fitting face shields have been designed in collaboration with Dr K B Hedgewar School’s Atal Tinkering Lab and offer a much more economical and convenient solution compared to the various face shields currently available.
These f24 face shields feature an ergonomic design and are extremely lightweight so that one can wear them for hours without any inconvenience.
For individuals engaged in essential services, such as conservancy workers, healthcare practitioners, etc, this low-cost, re-usable shield that can be easily sterilised, provides an effective shield against coronavirus.
GSIC recently provided a batch of f24 face shields to the Goa Waste Management Corporation. Social distancing and face masks have proven to be effective against the spread of the novel coronavirus. However, GSIC said they have been reading several reports regarding the short supply of face masks, which is a serious problem.
