Sawant and Mayem MLA Anant Shet visited the school after Herald highlighted the difficulties faced by the students due to a long delay in repairing the building.
“We regret that the students and parents had to face difficulties due to the contractor’s delay. Most of the repair works taken up by GSIDC were completed before the academic year began, but we don’t know how the rest was delayed,” said Dr Sawant.
The parents and students had recently threatened to sit outside the school from July 31 if the repair works were not completed by then. They later expressed satisfaction over Dr Sawant’s assurances.
