GSIDC changes face of DB Road

Promenades along the road have been renovated to provide good ambiance to the evening walkers; Initiative was taken after request from Bal Bhavan

Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) indeed needs a pat on its back for changing the look of DB Road near Bal Bhavan.  The promenades have been renovated to provide good ambiance to the evening walkers.
The GSIDC took the initiative following request from Bal Bhavan Chairman Sheetal Naik and renovated the promenades facing the Bal Bhavan and also the side-ways towards DB road. The renovated portion was inaugurated at the hands of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in December, last year.
A proper walking track, sitting arrangements and proper space for carts has been provided along the beautified area. A similar concept has also been replicated at the promenades opposite old GMC Complex and fish market.
“We are really thankful to the government for this initiative. The promenades were in bad condition and also full of garbage. Now, senior citizen from Campal area can have their evening walks and can spend good time there. The area also looks neat and clean,” a hand cart operator, who sells bhelpuri there, said.
“We want government to take similar step and renovate the entire promenade along the DB Road. People can enjoy evening walks, jogging along the promenade here rather than traveling all the way to Miramar-Dona Paula,” Marcus D’Mello, a local said.
