The complaint to the North Goa collector, police, and member secretary of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) said two trucks carrying mud and debris marked ‘On Govt Duty GSIDC’ were proceeding from Panjim bus stand to Bambolim when they suddenly turned and began throwing mud and debris into the creek violating CRZ as the area fell in a No Development Zone.
“These acts of illegal mud filing are gross illegal acts of violation of environmental laws of the land as prevailing in the State of Goa with the collusion and connivance of the GSIDC officials along with the contractors for pecuniary gains,” Sanjay Sarmalker said in the complaint.
He demanded a proper enquiry into those responsible in planning and executing the illegal filing of the creek. National Green Tribunal (NGT) had in March stopped work in the area that is known for its mangroves.
Sarmalker said an FIR should be filed in the respective police station “against the violators of the law and other necessary legal action should be initiated including at the Forest department”.
He also lodged a complaint with the flying squad control room though there was no official present to receive the complaint.
