PANJIM: In a bid to simplify and have time-bound delivery of services in regards to maintenance and renovations at government-run hospitals and educational institutions, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) on Friday launched a web-based application called e-Sewa, wherein the client department can lodge a service request at the click of a button 24×7.
On a trial basis, the facility has been launched at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), and will be extended to 11 government hospitals and 350 schools, in the next two months.
Addressing media persons, GSIDC Vice-Chairman Siddharth Kuncolienkar said the corporation has been entrusted with maintenance and renovation of government hospitals and schools in all talukas. “There was need to introduce a hassle free and time-bound service system to ensure smooth functioning of these hospitals and schools,” he said.
Kuncolienkar said that in tune with ‘digitalisation India programme’ launched by the Centre, GSIDC decided to take the initiative and launch e-Sewa. “We have launched e-Sewa to monitor service requests made by hospitals and schools, which are entrusted with GSIDC,” he said.
Explaining the system, Kuncolienkar said that any service request lodged by the client department would be communicated to the contractor on board within 15 seconds, which otherwise takes 10 to 15 days. “The request shall be attended to by the contractor within 24 hours, depending on the nature of the complaint,” he said.
This will also lead to complete elimination of use of paper for such correspondence, he added. The application can be operated from desktops as well as mobile phones.
