PANJIM: The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) has taken up three projects in the capital in a bid to beautify and upgrade the infrastructural facilities for the citizens and streets vendors.
The first project being rejuvenation of Mandovi River promenade from Children’s park to Youth Hostel in Miramar, proposes to create a promenade that would link youth hostel and the park with a cycling lane. The Rs 15.80 crore project will be a part of the future pedestrian itinerary between Ribandar and Dona Paula. The project also includes connecting promenade with the existing roads and a protection wall along the coastline. GSIDC Vice Chairman Siddhart Kunkalienkar assured to complete the project within seven months.
Another project – beautification of beach front promenade at Miramar that costs around Rs 12.25 crore promises to serve as a good recreational area with well organised space for hawkers, amenities for people and parking areas. The beautification of Campal ‘Ganesh Street’ comprises of upgradation, major repairs of the road, construction of footpath and electrification. The work along this stretch is already underway.
