PANJIM: The Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), Vasco, a Ministry of Defence has pitched in to help the State government in its fight against COVID-19 pandemic by providing “Onsite Oxygen Generating Plant for COVID-19 Hospital at an estimated cost of Rs one crore.
The proposed oxygen plant will generate medical oxygen at the rate 960 litres per minute and will be set up within a month by the GSL, according to Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik.
Naik said that considering the urgency of medical oxygen, the GSL is providing 40 “Oxygen Concentrators” at an estimated cost of Rs 26 lakh to the State government of which four have already been delivered to the health authorities in the State.
