GSL worker dies of electrocution

VASCO: A 24-year-old worker of Goa Shipyard Ltd lost his life after he came in contact with live wire on Friday.
This is the second case of accidental death in the month of July in the Shipyard. Sources from Vasco Town Police informed that Prasad Dhareshwar, a native of Karwar and residing in the Port Town died due to electrocution while working at GSL on Thursday.
According to the sources, due to heavy rainfall, the ongoing work was asked to stop for some time. While winding up the work, Prasad came in contact with the live wire and collapsed.
He was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police conducted a “panchanama” and registered case of unnatural death.
After this second incidence in the month of July, the labourers at the Shipyard seem to be unhappy. On July 3, Natarajan Pillai, a worker died in GSL after he was crushed between automatic sliding door and a wall.
