VASCO: Parents are concerned about the gambling going on in Vasco. In a press release the Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) president Nitin Phaldesai said that police are looking the other way.

“The educated youth are reportedly getting engaged in gambling to earn instant money as people have lost their jobs due to the Pandemic. This has raised the concern of the parents. The government and the police should take timely action,” demanded Phaldessai.

Since this vegetable market is closed due to the lockdown, gambling activities are taking place to earn fast money, Phaldessai added.

“The police are eager to remove the fruits and vegetable vendors sitting on the road but are not willing to check the gambling activities going on every day in the market,” Phaldesai said.

Corona has taken the lives and livelihood of many. Everyone is struggling to survive. The parents, the GSM president says, have found this to be a matter of great concern as their grown-up children have taken to this bad habit to make fast money and the police are not taking any action.

He demanded that the District Collector Nikhil Desai should take steps to stop these gambling activities.
