PANJIM: The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has summoned the Chief Engineer of Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) following a complaint with regards to negligent handling of bauxite ore from MPT, transported through Vasco port town, causing air pollution.
GSPCB Member Secretary Shamila Monteiro in a communication has summoned the Chief Engineer for personal hearing on June 21, as a last opportunity to submit the say, failing which, stringent legal action will be initiated by the Board.
The GSPCB had received a complaint regarding negligent handling of bauxite ore from MPA, transported through the port town route and degradation of air quality.
