The first trip will begin at 9.30 am while the second trip is scheduled at 2.30 pm. Seven rafts will be put into operation wherein each trips runs for 10 km. A minimum of six passengers run a single trip along with trained instructors.
“Tourists, locals and those interested in experiencing white water rafting will have to assemble at The Earthen Pot Restaurant, Sayed Nagar, Valpoi, Sattari, from where a 25 minute drive and thereafter a 10 minute walk into the Mhadei river valley will take you to the rafting site,” a statement from Goa Tourism says.
With charges for the trip at Rs1800 per person, the department has allayed fears that post implementation of the GST, the tariffs would be hiked. “One need not worry about GST. Rs 1800 is the rate that will continue post 1st July,” the statement added.
White water rafting activities are carried out in accordance with internationally accepted norms wherein instructors are trained and operations run with a ‘safety first’ policy. Each passenger is provided with safety equipment and prior to departure, a briefing is conducted for safety and other procedures.
