PANJIM: The work of converting two city roads into smart roads as part of Smart City Mission has started with the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) inviting tenders from reputed consultants /consultancy firms.
The tenders have been invited from reputed consultants/consultancy firms that have rendered consultancy services including project management consultancy work in any public sector/government autonomous institutions for providing consultancy services for the work of selection of project consultants for planning, estimation, tender management, design vetting and project management for smart roads in Panjim under Smart City Mission.
As part of the current scope of work, two roads from Old Patto bridge up to Four Pillars junction (approximate length 1.4-km) and from St Inez junction, near Vivanta By Taj up to Adarsh Colony junction, near Miramar (approximate length 3.7-km) have been initially considered for development, as per the tender document.
Both these roads will be converted into smart roads by developing ducts on either side of the roads and no road diggings will be permitted once built.
The tentative project cost is Rs 120 crore and consultancy fees are to be paid as percentage on the project cost. For the purpose of implementing the Smart roads project, the GSUDA has been appointed as a nodal agency by the Imagine Panjim Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL).
Meanwhile, the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has also sought tenders from contractors for restoration, refurbishment and for interior designing of the headquarters of IPSCDL, to be set up in old PWD office premises, Panjim.
The IPSCDL has approved many projects including the work of rejuvenating the St Inez creek and construction of two overhead water reservoirs to provide water 24×7 for the capital city.
