GSUDA to take up three key projects in Vasco

MMC transfers Rs 23 cr funds of Fourteenth Finance Commission Scheme to GSUDA

VASCO: Three key projects in port town will be taken up by the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) which includes the Power House Complex at Baina, new fish market and renovation work of the existing municipality building. Funds to the tune of Rs 23 crore of Fourteenth Finance Commission Scheme have been transferred to GSUDA by Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) recently. 

According to the Mormugao Municipal Council sources, under 14th Finance Commission Scheme, Rs 23 crore funds were transferred to GSUDA for the three key projects in port town a week ago. 

Source informed that one of the works is the renovation of the existing municipality building the work of which is likely to commence in November and the work on the most awaited fish market project will commence in mid-October this year.

Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida expressed his happiness over the MMC’s decision to transfer the funds to GSUDA which will be utilised for taking up the three crucial projects in the port town. He thanked the Urban Development Minister Milind Naik for undertaking these key projects.
