GTDC board dissolved

PANJIM, JUNE 16 Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Wednesday dissolved the Board of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation. Confirming the development, Kamat said he cleared the file in this respect on Wednesday evening.

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Wednesday dissolved the Board of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation.
Confirming the development, Kamat said he cleared the file in this respect on  Wednesday evening.
“I have dissolved the GTDC board today ,” the chief minister told Herald.
However, Kamat said that he has reappointed Shyam Satardekar as the chairman of the GTDC.
“The board will be reconstituted later,” he stated without giving any timeframe on the appointment of new board.
The chief minister declined to give reasons for the dissolution of the board.
However, sources in the GTDC said it was done soon after the tourism portfolio was handed over to Tivim legislator Nilkanth Halarnkar.
Also, sources said, there were several allegations levelled against the vice-chairman Lyndon Monteiro, who has been on the run in the Nadia Torrado case.
RESHUFFLE IN CHAIRMANSHIPS: Curtorim legislator and KTC Chairperson Alexio Reginald Lourcenco is set to take over as the chairman of the Planning and Development Authority, government sources said.
The position is vacant after Tivim Legislator Nilkanth Halarnkar was given a Cabinet berth.
MGP legislator Dipak Dhavalikar will take over as the chairman of the Kadamba Transport Corporation.
Sources said Goa Pradesh Youth Congress President Sankalp Amonkar will be appointed as the chairman of Horticulture Corporation.
“The file on the above reshuffles has already been moved and only awaiting chief minister’s consent,” sources informed.
When contacted Kamat confirmed the moves but declined more information.
“No decision has been reached yet,” he told Herald.
