PANJIM: To give boost the sluggish tourism sector, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is all set to introduce new services including a land based ‘adventure park’ and ‘hanging restaurant’ in the State to attract quality tourists.
GTDC has invited tender for introduction of new tourism services including land based adventure-park, nautical tours, shooting range and hanging restaurant.
The interested parties are asked to submit their application on or before February 28.
Meanwhile, Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte has reacted sharply to this government move while questioning the status of earlier proposed services like amphibian bus, hot air balloons, sea plane and others.
“Entering in newer avenues without sustained efforts at things we have already invested-in wouldn’t get us anywhere,” he tweeted.
The MLA demanded that a pilot study be conducted and a concrete plan be put up in place before trying new things. “Just waste more public money!!! It’s mandatory to have a pilot study and a concrete plan before trying newer things,” he said.
Khaunte said that State government needs to learn from Kerala’s tourism model and market the things which we are good at.
