GTET on Nov 21

PANJIM: The State Council for Educational Research & Training (SCERT) will hold Goa Teacher Eligibility Test (GTET) on November 21 that will see 1789 candidates appearing for Paper I and 2276 for Paper II. 

SCERT Director Nagaraj Honnekeri said 4065 candidates have registered themselves for the exam of who 1789 will appear for Paper I and 2276 for Paper II. “All arrangements are made to ensure the GTET on Sunday, November 21 is held smoothly by following SoPs laid down by the government,” he said. 

The test to be held across 15 centres mandates candidates to carry their admit card and government recognised identity proof. 

 As per the provision of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, it is essential for a teacher to qualify in the test to be employed to teach from Classes I to VIII. Accordingly, last month, the SCERT notified the GTET. The GTET is applicable to government, and aided schools along with those private schools under State administration control.  

To qualify, the candidate will have to score 60 per cent or at least 90 out of 150 marks in the test. All questions in GTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
