PANJIM: Goa University has slipped from its 68th position to 93rd on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019, which was released on Monday by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Though, the university has retained a spot in the 100 best universities in the country, it has dropped drastically from the 68th position it had held in 2018.
The university position has been slipping since it first made it to the 20th position in 2016 when the rankings were introduced. It later came down to 67th in 2017.
What is more shocking is that the university does not feature in the overall ranking for institutes across disciplines, where it had stood 98th last year.
Further, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Goa has ranked 87th among 100 to engineering colleges while Goa College of Pharmacy stood 43rd among best pharmacy colleges.
