PANJIM: Goa University Teachers Association (GUTA) has strongly condemned National Student Union of India (NSUI) for barging into the office of Controller of examination Anuradha Wagle, last week over non-declaration of results.
A group of students affiliated to NSUI and NCP wing had on April 3 tried to meet Wagle over the university’s failure to declare the re-evaluation results of the fifth semester of students of bachelor’s of law for nearly two months. The results were declared on same evening.
Alleging physical intimidation and verbal abuse, GUTA has urged NSUI to desist from any such future actions.
Stating that there are established norms and judicious procedures on how students are expected to behave while dealing with issues that need urgent attention, GUTA stated, “The manner of your response which put the safety and dignity of a female colleague at serious risk has left us shocked and angry.”
The students were angry as the results were not out and the re-test time table was announced beginning from April 8.
