PANJIM: The Goa University on Thursday announced that the Semester End Assessment (SEA) of final year students for Masters programme will be held in physical mode.
A Special Ordinance in this regard was issued by Registrar Radhika Nayak wherein she has said that Varsity has decide mode of conduct for SEA for the post graduate programmes of general education for Final Year Students offered at the University campus and Affiliated Colleges for the second half of the academic year 2020-21.
The GU said that the SEA, both theory and practical for final year students for M.A. /M.Com/ M. Sc. Programmes (Regular and Repeat) and Semester III (Repeat) will be held in physical/offline mode.
However, the Semester End Examination (SEE) will be conducted as per the Academic term, which is in online mode.
“All arrangements for examinations in physical format shall be made by maintaining social distancing, use of facial masks, sanitizers, sanitization of classrooms and all other necessary precautions to be taken as per COVID-19 norms,” GU said directing the Heads of Department and it’s affiliated colleges.
The duration of each SEE will be for a maximum of two hours. In case of examinations conducted for a shorter duration of time, the marks will be suitably scaled up to meet the requirement.
The GU said that the students who have opted for Dissertation will be permitted to submit their Dissertation electronically in PDF format.
“The Guide shall assess the Dissertation work independently for 40 per cent marks which shall be the ISA component. For the remaining 60 per cent, each student shall be required to make a detailed presentation of her/his project in online mode. Similarly, the Final Semester Project in case of MCA shall be evaluated in online mode,” GU said.
The Varsity said that the improvement examinations will be conducted in physical format. Their ISA marks would be retained and carried forward.
