GU to refund revaluation fees only if there is technical fault: GUSC

PANJIM: Goa University Students Council (GUSC) on Monday said that Goa University (GU) informed them that it will refund marks revaluation fees to college students only if it notices a technical fault behind ‘zero/less marks’ fiasco, not otherwise.

PANJIM: Goa University Students Council (GUSC) on Monday said that Goa University (GU) informed them that it will refund marks revaluation fees to college students only if it notices a technical fault behind ‘zero/less marks’ fiasco, not otherwise.
GUSC had alleged that the online results of the internal semester declared on December 16, 2017 had flaws, forcing them to apply for re-evaluation.
It is learnt that for each paper, students had to pay approximately Rs 525 for re-evaluation.
Speaking to Herald, GUSC’s Urvesh Redkar said, “Today we approached the GU Registrar and he assured that the students whose results have clerical mistakes will not be charged any money while they accepted the fact that there was mistake in their system due to which faults in result occurred. Also a separate committee has been formed to formulate a revaluation policy.”
Last week, undergraduate students from various colleges gheraoed the Controller of Examinations at Goa University (GU) pointing at serious errors in the results and demanding a solution by January 5.
“The papers were given for re-evaluation and the marks were revised. It is proven that we had fared well in the exam. How can GU commit gross error and not refund our money despite it being their fault?” a student had said, after submitting a memorandum to the Controller of Examinations.
