CUNCOLIM: Prashant Naik, a school security guard and a resident of Quepem, has been arrested by Cuncolim police on charges of outraging the modesty of school girls.
According to the Cuncolim police, Naik is working as a security guard at the Balli Government School. On Friday evening, when some girls had gone for kabaddi practice at the school ground, the accused started making vulgar signs and passed vulgar comments. He allegedly removed his pants and tried to stop the girls from leaving the place. Later, the girls complained to their parents and teachers, who took up the matter before the headmaster. Following this, the headmaster lodged a complaint before the Cuncolim police who arrested the accused on Saturday.
Worried that their children are at risk at the school, the parents have demanded that female teachers be present at the school when girls are called for any practice.
The accused has been booked under Sections 354 and 509 of PIC and Goa Children Act.
