Guinea national held for possessing drugs worth Rs 2.1 lakh

MAPUSA: The Anjuna police arrested a 36-year-old Guinea national for allegedly possessing narcotics worth approximately Rs 2.1 lakh.

According to the police, the accused Malam Camara, native of Catio, Guinea, was allegedly found in illegal possession of 01.74 grams of psychotropic drugs suspected to be ‘Cocaine’ and 03.12 grams psychotropic drugs suspected to be ‘Heroine’, altogether having value of Rs 2.1 lakh, during a raid conducted at internal road at Anjuna, on the intervening night of November 14 and 15.

The suspected drugs along with other exhibits were seized under the search panchanama after following all mandatory provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985, police said.

Further investigation is in progress with LPSI Sneha Sawal under the guidance of Anjuna PI Prashal Naik Dessai and Mapusa DySP Jivba Dalvi and overall guidance of Superintendent of Police (SP), North, Nidhin Valsan, IPS.
