MARGAO: The playground issue continues to haunt the Guirdolim panchayat with the Sunday gram sabha adopting a resolution to seek additional land from the owner for the proposed playground.
It maybe recalled that the land owner had given land for the playground and in Octotober 2014 at the special gram sabha chaired by Sarpanch Sonia Dias, the panchayat had adopted a resolution to go ahead with the playground for the village.
However, on Sunday, August 23, the villagers pointed out that there was a need to approach the land owner for land as the area of the present ground was inadequate. Sarpanch Dias agreed to the same.
On a different note, the Sarapnch elaborated on the areas of the panchayat jurisdiction where fogging had been carried out recently. Furthermore based on the directives from the Salcete block development the panchayat constituted village development committees and the same list will be forwarded to the BDO. On the garbage management issue, the panchayat resolved to restart the garbage collection in October.
