CALANGUTE: The Guirim panchayat bal gram sabha for the village flagged the need for a children’s park and a playground.
This was the first such bal gram sabha organised by the panchayat on Sunday, for those below the voting age. Panchayat members assured them that they would identify land for the park and playground at the earliest.
Panchayat members said the children from village schools voiced their problems and requirements and helped them better understand their needs. The children also spoke out about the bad condition of the internal roads in the village and the over speeding by vehicles specially tourist taxis. Panchayat members said they would resolve the issues.
“This is the first time we had a bal gram sabha and it was a very good experience. All village panchayats in Goa should have such bal gram sabhas,” panchayat members said.
