MAPUSA: A 34-year-old Guirim resident Floyd Almeida lost his life after a Kadamba Transport Corporation bus hit his scooter on Friday morning.
According to Mapusa police, the accident occurred at 10.15 am when the Kadamba bus driven by Mahendra Gaonkar(40) was proceeding from Mapusa towards Panjim. On reaching near Nibula Hotel at Guirim, the Kadamba driver hit Floyd’s Dio scooter which had almost crossed the main road.
The victim was immediately shifted to North District Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Police have registered an offence under Section 279 and 304 A of Indian Penal Code against the Kadamba driver Mahendra Manohar Gaonkar, resident of Bhavakal in Mayem. Further investigation is on.
