PANJIM: The Principal District and Sessions Court, Panjim granted conditional bail to Gujarat hotelier Anantkumar Tanna arrested on the charges of raping a model.
The court ordered that Tanna be released on a bail bond of Rs one lakh and two sureties in the like amount. He has been asked not to contact the victim and witnesses or interfere with the investigation or any other person, who may be acquainted with the facts of the case.
Last month, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Goa Police had arrested the Gujarat-based hotelier for trafficking a 21-year-old girl and allegedly raping her by promising to make her a fashion model.
The victim had complained that she was brought to Goa by the accused to gather information on spa businesses.
She had stated that she was taken to a hotel in Calangute by the accused and was allegedly raped several times and video filmed. The accused also blackmailed the victim girl to force her into prostitution.
