Guv suggests films on issues plaguing nation

Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik urged filmmakers to focus on issues plaguing the country in what could be an attempt to bail affected people out of the problem.
“You all are good filmmakers. I urge you to all make movies highlighting the struggles of the youth, issues in the villages, plight of farmers, situations politicians face (referring to threats and circumstances he faced as Governor of Jammu & Kashmir), etc,” he said, addressing the closing ceremony of IFFI in the presence of eminent filmmakers from India and the world. “Let these movies help the affected people come out of their problems,” he added.
Malik also recalled the situation he endured as Governor of the then state of Jammu & Kashmir, wherein he faced threats. Reciting an immortal dialogue from the movie ‘Pakeezah’, he explained how difficult it was to live in the then violent State, with uncertainty about living the next day.
“The situation after lifting of Article 370 has resolved all the problems, there is no violence reported since the Article has been removed,” he added.
