Guv to part with one third of his salary

PANJIM: Governor Satya Pal Malik will contribute one third of his salary, every month during the ongoing financial year, towards PM-CARES Fund, set up to deal with COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press statement issued here, it has been said that Governor of Goa has decided to make one third cut in his salary at source every month during the entire financial year 2020–21, in order to assist the nation in its fight against corona virus pandemic.

“Governor will be making this contribution towards PM-CARES Fund which has been set up to deal with pandemic like COVID-19,” the statement added.

“Governor has expressed hope that under the able leadership of Prime Minister, overcome the crisis and emerge victorious,” it added further. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and his Cabinet have already announced to contribute their one month salary towards CM Relief Fund, set up for management of COVID-19 outbreak in the State.

Minister for Urban Development Milind Naik has announced to contribute his six-month salary towards CM Relief Fund.

MGP MLA Ramakrishna Dhavalikar demanded that Chief Minister should deduct one month salary along with all other allowances and benefits of the MLAs to contribute towards CM and PM-CARES Fund, equally.
