PANJIM: Generation Next has demanded that the House Committee Report of the police-politician-drug mafia nexus be handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) for a probe. The report by House Committee, under the chairmanship of Nuvem MLA Francisco (Mickky) Pachecco has named several people, including police and politicians.
In November 2015 the government had sent the report to the Anti-Corruption Branch for a further probe, however, ACB has refused to probe the matter.
GenNext President Durgadas Kamat said ACB has no jurisdiction to probe cases linked to narcotics. He said the report should be further investigated by ANC.
“We strongly demand that the government hand over this report to ANC for further probe,” Kamat said. He alleged that the BJP government is not keen on probing the drug nexus in which police and politicians are involved.
He said all coastal constituencies are represented by the BJP and it is a clear indication that the government has entered into ‘match-fixing’ with the drug lobby.
