Harmal Panchakroshi Shikshan Mandal gets nod for nursing courses

PERNEM: Harmal Panchakroshi Shikshan Mandal was honored with recognition by the Indian Nursing Council on Thursday. The recognition comes as the organization gears up to introduce three comprehensive full-time courses in the nursing domain –General Nursing Midwifery (GNM), Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM), and B.Sc Nursing. This marks a significant step forward for the Mandal, which has now established its own college of nursing to administer these courses, with a collective offering of 100 seats.

Both the ANM and GNM courses have got affiliation with the State Nursing Council, while the BSc Nursing program is affiliated with Goa University.

The ANM program, spanning two years, includes six months of intensive internship. This particular course accommodates a total of 30 students, distributed among various categories. Among the available seats, 20 are designated for the general category, 1 for SC, 4 for ST, and 8 for OBC candidates. The remaining positions are allocated for Ex-Servicemen, Physically Handicapped individuals, those from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and the Children of Single Parents (CSP), provided they fall within the age range of 17 to 35 years and have completed their 12th grade studies in Arts or Science.

On the other hand, the GNM course is a 3-year full-time diploma program in general nursing and midwifery. It caters to students who have completed a minimum of 10+2 education in Science, Arts, or Commerce, as well as those who have undertaken the vocational ANM Course and health care science from a recognized CBSE board.

This recognition and the ensuing introduction of these courses underscore Harmal Panchakroshi Shikshan Mandal’s dedication to fostering a skilled and knowledgeable nursing workforce.
