In a remarkable display of harmony, a Muslim family from Korgaon has worshiped Lord Ganesh on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi for the fifth consecutive year. As we know, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in the entire state with great devotion.
This story is about a Muslim family from Korgaon who performs Ganesh puja at home. Makbul Malgemani, a resident of Korgaon and a journalist by profession, has been doing Ganesh Puja for the last 5 years and showing social harmony.
Makbool said that his forefathers used to perform Ganesh puja every year in their native village, Hubli, Karnataka. “Initially, when I decided to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi here in Korgaon, many people from my community obstructed it, but I always wanted to perform Ganesh Puja”, said Makbool. Performing Ganesh puja, Makbool has set a perfect example of fostering communal harmony.
