VAGATOR: The noise pollution in the Anjuna-Vagator belt is nothing short of harrowing. Small Vagator resident Janie Crasto, whose son is fighting seizures and autism said he can’t get sleep. Doctors have said that this is not the right environment for him. He cannot sleep and he cannot concentrate.
Janie said, once she had to rush him out of the house due to the unbearable noise.
Even three people, who were ailing in a family, have died, since they couldn’t get rest due to the noise, she stated. When one is on medication one needs rest.
Voicing the severe problems faced by locals of Anjuna and Vagator,Janie said, “I once dozed off while sitting on a scooter, due to lack of sleep at night.
She also disclosed the nightmare children and senior citizens in Anjuna-Vagator had to undergo due to the constant blare of music not only during the day but throughout the night till early morn.
