The Director of Municipal Administration (DMA) Tariq Thomas earlier this week issued orders to the urban local bodies to ensure enforcement of the model code of conduct in view of the Lok Sabha elections.
While, most of the Municipal Councils and panchayats have been prepared to tackle the situation with prior planning and financial provisions, some of them with lesser budgetary provisions and lack of pre-planning are at the receiving end and will have to seek special permissions to carry out the works.
