The Crime Branch requests the High Court to adjourn the bail plea hearing of Shripad alias Paresh Sawardekar. This decision comes in the wake of continuous legal proceedings, with Meghana’s statement scheduled for presentation before a Magistrate today. Furthermore, statements from two additional witnesses are anticipated to take place on Wednesday.
The High Court, in acknowledgement of these circumstances, has granted the requested postponement. Consequently, the rescheduled bail plea hearing is now slated to occur on Thursday.
The aftermath of the accident case has led to a noteworthy transfer from the Mardol Police Station to the jurisdiction of the Crime Branch. The investigation team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Suraj Halarnkar along with Police Inspector Narayan Chimulkar, has been formed specifically for this purpose. This specialized team is tasked with delving into the accident case meticulously.
As part of their rigorous efforts, the team has commenced the collection of crucial evidence. Notably, an airbag from the driver’s side, bearing traces of bloodstains, has been secured as a vital piece of evidence. This strategic approach underscores the Crime Branch’s commitment to a comprehensive and impartial investigation.
As the investigation progresses, the team has received a directive to prepare a detailed progress report every fortnight. This report will be submitted to the Superintendent of Police within the Crime Branch, Mr. Nidhin Valsan.
