PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has started hearing the appeal filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in British teenager Scarlett Keeling murder case challenging the judgment of the Children’s Court acquitting accused Samson D’Souza and Placido Carvalho.
CBI contended that the trial court erred in evaluating the evidence and testimonies of witnesses and that while acquitting the accused the trial court observed that CBI did not conduct a fresh probe. The hearing will continue after the summer vacation.
The Goa Children’s Court had acquitted D’Souza and Carvalho, following which the CBI filed the appeal.
