PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Thursday directed the State government and others to take a decision on the application filed by former minister Dilip Parulekar for regularisation of the encroachment on an area of 599 sq mts at Socorro within six months and to communicate such decision to the petitioner.
The petitioner had filed a writ petition seeking direction to the respondents to decide on his application for regularlisation of the encroachment as directed by the Court 2014. He told the Court that the authorities concerned had not complied with the 2014 order.
As per the petitioner the Serula Comunidade had processed the file and forwarded it to the Administrator of Comunidades, Mapusa, who thereafter forwarded the file to the North Goa Collector, where it was pending.
He desired to regularise the encroachment and was asked to pay the price for the value of the land, which was fixed based upon its value at the time of the encroachment.
Considering the fact that the regularisation is pending since 2014, the High Court asked the concerned authorities to take a decision in accordance with the law and communicate it to the petitioner.
