PANJIM: While dismissing anticipatory bail granted to Kenneth Silveira in a case of fraudulent sale of land at Mopa, the High Court of Bombay at Goa pulled up the Additional Sessions Judge, Mapusa (Fast Track Court) for failing to appreciate Crime Branch’s probe. It has categorically stated that granting anticipatory bail to the alleged accused was an error on the part of the trial court.
The case pertains to an alleged multi-crore scam, exposed by a local Suresh Chopdekar. The complainant had claimed that the exchequer was cheated through fraudulent claim of money towards the land acquisition process by Kenneth Silveira in connivance with one Franky Gonsalves.
