PORVORIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Monday, asked Goa State Pollution Control Board to submit the deadline given to set live noise monitoring units. It also asked the Superintendent of Police to give the timeline required for police to respond, when a complaint is filed.
The GPSCB has submitted that 23 units have been issued corrigendum to their ‘consent to operate’ to install real time noise monitoring mechanisms.
Adv Manish Salkar who appeared on behalf of the Goa State Pollution Control Board said whichever units have been given consent to operate, a corrigendum will be issued to them to install real time noise monitoring mechanism.
The real time monitoring devices will give updates to the GSPCB, the Goa Police and the SDM’s office.
So far 400 units have applied for consent to operate. The matter has been adjourned to 21st April.
