HC orders District, subordinate courts not to take more than 25 matters

PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has ordered the District and all Subordinate Courts not to take up more than 25 matters in each session daily till September end.

The High Court has further said that no adverse orders be passed in the absence of the advocates and parties not appearing when their matter is called or for consideration. Also disposal norms for the judicial officers of such courts are exempted during this period.

Following a representation by the South Goa Advocates Association, Margao, the High Court of Bombay, Mumbai Registrar in a letter to the Principal District and Sessions Judge, South Goa, Margao, has requested him to take necessary steps and to inform the Bar Associations and to send the compliance report.
